Providence, Rhode Island, Michael Veracka's yard of raised,
geometrically patterened beds gives new meaning to the term
conspicuous consumption: His garden comfortably feeds him
and his wife, Priscilla Young. In his cozy, working class
neighborhood of conservative front lawns and foundation planting,
it takes guts to turn an entire corner lot, visible to all,
into a small farm. So far, he's heard nothing but applause."
